  • Getting PayPal API Credentials

In this article, I will walk us through the steps in getting your PayPal account API credentials which are: API username, API password and signature.

It is worth noting that the API credentials are available only to PayPal merchant accounts (PayPal Premier and PayPal Business account) holder. The reasoning behind this is that only those that sell online will need the credentials to integrate payment processing via PayPal on their websites.

See this comparison page for more information on the difference between the various PayPal account types.

With the above being said, let’s go over the steps in getting our API credentials.

Firstly, login to your PayPal Premier or Business account.

Click on the Tools menu option.
